2-vehicle collision kills South Carolina man

A Grovetown man is dead following a two-auto accident in Beech Island around noon on Sept. 20. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, an additional five individuals who were also involved suffered undescribed injuries.

According to preliminary investigations, the fatal car collision transpired on Highway 278 when a 45-year-old man driving a jeep struck an eastbound vehicle as the man, who was heading westbound, tried to pass the vehicle in front of him. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 44-year-old man, died because of the wreck; first responders declared him dead at the scene. There were no other passengers traveling with him. An ambulance transported the driver of the jeep and his four passengers to the medical center at Georgia Regents University. The news release did not report the condition of the injured victims.

The investigation into the accident was being conducted by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol and was ongoing, at the time of reporting. Police did not report if alcohol or speed contributed to the accident or whether any of the motorists involved was using their seat belts.

South Carolina residents who have experienced the loss of a family member in a car crash may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim in a civil court. If the family suspects that a negligent driver’s conduct caused the accident, that family might try to hold the driver accountable for their financial losses.

By thoroughly analyzing the completed police report and witness statements, an attorney representing the family may find evidence to support their allegations of negligence. Moreover, if police charged the at-fault driver in the incident, the attorney could possibly use those charges and the associated evidence pare of the negligence argument. In a positive outcome, the court may award the family funds to help offset their financial losses, such as medical and burial costs.

Not only was he able to go up and beyond the call of duty for me, he knows his client and your not a number to him. John was a beacon of hope to me at a time when my options appeared limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed nigh on impossible.

I highly recommend this law firm. King Smith represented me for a wreck in 2019 and obtained a fair and fast resolution to my claim.

We're at the end of the case now and I have nothing but confidence in my attorney. After a workplace injury, friends wanted me to hire a lawyer. When I finally reached that point, John Griffith turned out to be the best match. I spoke with seven but he was the one lawyer of the bunch who seemed to want to work for me.
