Deaths and injuries from car crashes up in South Carolina

The past few years saw a decline in the number of driving deaths, but the number of fatal car accidents rose significantly in the first six months of last year. According to data from the National Safety Council, the number of car crashes, crashes involving significant injuries and crashes resulting in deaths in the first six months of 2015 increased compared to the first six months of 2014.

Per the NSC, approximately 19,000 people died in car accidents between January and June of 2015, a 19 percent year-over-year increase from 2014. Along with a sharp increase in the number of fatal automobile accidents, there was also a spike in the number of collisions involving serious injury.

There were 2.3 million serious injuries due to car accidents recorded, which is a 30 percent increase from the same time frame in 2014. Serious injuries are classified by the NSC as those that require a medical consultation.

The cost of car accidents can be high to both society and the individuals involved. The cost of car repairs can be significant, but it can pale in comparison to the medical expenses that injured victims are forced to bear. In addition, many who are injured are unable to return to work for lengthy periods, further worsening their financial condition. Although some accidents are unavoidable, many are caused by human error. A person who has been injured in a collision that was the result of another driver who was impaired, speeding, distracted or negligent in some other fashion may want to have an attorney’s help in pursuing compensation for the resulting losses.

Not only was he able to go up and beyond the call of duty for me, he knows his client and your not a number to him. John was a beacon of hope to me at a time when my options appeared limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed nigh on impossible.

I highly recommend this law firm. King Smith represented me for a wreck in 2019 and obtained a fair and fast resolution to my claim.

We're at the end of the case now and I have nothing but confidence in my attorney. After a workplace injury, friends wanted me to hire a lawyer. When I finally reached that point, John Griffith turned out to be the best match. I spoke with seven but he was the one lawyer of the bunch who seemed to want to work for me.
