Car crash may have been intentional, according to police

Three teenagers were injured in a single-car crash in South Carolina on Aug. 14. Police said the driver of the car, an 18-year-old man, intentionally caused the car accident, driving off the road in Hartsville and crashing into a tree. The car was reportedly totaled.

Car accident turns deadly for South Carolina resident

On Aug. 14, the South Carolina Highway patrol responded to a two-car collision in Greenville County that left one individual dead. The other individual involved also suffered injuries. According to authorities, the fatal accident occurred around 1:20 p.m. near the Garrison Road and Augusta Road intersection when a pickup truck rear-ended a sedan. A 41-year-old Iva man who was driving the sedan received fatal injuries in the crash.

Enterprise and others warned GM years before 2014 auto recall

In February, General Motors initiated a recall of six vehicle models, including the Saturn Ion and Chevrolet Cobalt, but documents acquired through the Freedom of Information Act suggest that the automaker had been warned about potential problems with the cars several years earlier. People in South Carolina may be interested to learn that many fatal car accidents might have been caused the alleged problems.

Truck driver dies in I-26 crash

On July 25, the South Carolina Highway Patrol was alerted to a morning accident in which a 55-year-old West Columbia man died. He was driving a tractor-trailer eastbound on Interstate 26 near mile marker 159 near Bowman when his tractor-trailer went off the roadway, stopping near a wooded area.
